Genesis Chapter 10

Today we come to the fountainhead of the expansion of the human race after Noah. It is through this people that God will continue to show his glory in being gracious to mankind. It is through one of these family lines that a messiah will come.

This chapter outlines the generations of Noah’s sons. From these came the nations of the earth:

Territory: Coastland Peoples

Japheth: (1) Gomer, (2) Magog, (3) Madai, (4) Javan, (5) Tubal, (6) Meshech,
and (7) Tiras.
Gomer: (1) Ashkenaz, (2) Riphath, and (3) Togarmah.
Javan: (1) Elishah, (2) Tarshish, (3) Kittim, and (4) Dodanim.

Territory: Sidon to Gaza toward
Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim and Lasha.

Ham: (1) Cush, (2) Egypt, (3) Put, and (4) Canaan.
Cush: (1) Seba, (2) Havilah, (3) Sabtah, (4) Raamah, (5) Sabteca,

(6) Nimrod

Raamah: (1) Sheba and (2) Dedan.
Nimrod: First mighty man. His kingdom was: (1) Babel,

(2) Erech, (3) Accad, and (4) Calneh (in the land of Shinar).

He went into (5) Assyria and built (a) Nineveh, (b) Rehoboth-Ir,

(c) Calah, and (d) Resen.

Egypt: (1) Ludim, (2) Anamim, (3) Lehabim, (4) Naphtuhim,

(5) Pathrusim, (6) Casluhim, and (7) Caphtorim.
Casluhim: The Philistines came from him.
Canaan: (1) Heth, (2) Sidon, (3) Jebusites, (4) Amorites,

(5) Girgashites, (6) Hivites, (7) Arkites, (8) Sinites, (9) Arvadites,

(10) Zemarites, and the (11) Hamathites.

Territory: Mesha to Sephar

to the hill country of the east.

Shem: All the children of (1) Eber (elder brother of Japheth), (2) Elam, (3) Asshur, (4) Arpachshad, (5) Lud, and (6) Aram.
Aram: (1) Uz, (2) Hul, (3) Gether, and (3) Mash.
Arpachshad: (1) Shelah
Shelah: (1) Eber
Eber: (1) Peleg, (2) Joktan
Joktan: (1) Almodad, (2) Sheleph, (3) Hazarmaveth,

(4) Jerah, (5) Hadoram, (6) Uzal, (7) Diklah, (8) Obal,

(9) Abimael, (10) Sheba, (11) Ophir, (12) Havilah, and

(13) Jobab.
